Group Organization
Bobst Group's main focus is on operational excellence, growth and effective organization (modus operandi). While serving its customers by industry (folding carton, corrugated board and flexible materials), the Group is organized by Business Units (BUs) - two BUs being specialized by technological processes and one BU dedicated to Services - thus pursuing a better utilization of synergies. |
Structural organization of the Group |
 |
- BU Sheet-fed combines all the product lines of the folding carton and the corrugated board industries,
- BU Web-fed covers the activities linked to the flexible materials industry and the product lines Web-fed Solutions,
- BU Services expands Bobst Group’s services offering by developing the sales of supplies and by supporting the customer in its operational activity.
|
In addition to this, corporate activities such as Group Finance, Group Business Development and Group Supply, Production and Logistics are centrally managed. Certain services have the duty to provide support to the organization and ensure coherence in the Group. They include: Human Resources, Legal, Information Technology, Technology Management, Shared Services and Communication. Controlling and risk management complete these “transverse” functions.
The organization is managed based on the following principles: |
- simplicity and lean management are applied wherever possible,
- speed of adaptation to changing markets and business environments being of utmost importance, decision-making is delegated as close to the customers and the products as possible,
- the quality of the personnel and management is recognized as one of the main assets of the Group. For this reason, the organization is designed to provide a challenging and dynamic environment in order to attract and retain the most competent people,
- the structure chosen implies that the Group will more and more focus its internal activities on specific value adding functions which cannot be found in the market. All others will continue to be delegated step by step to third party suppliers.
|
This organizational structure allows the Group to rapidly anticipate market needs and transform them into equipment and service innovations. At the same time, it offers close local presence to customers worldwide, facilitating interaction in local languages and cultures.
